Prem Rawat, formerly calling himself Maharaji and before that Guru Maharaj Ji and before that Balyogeshwar Param Sant Shri Satgurudev Ji Maharaj, is a so-called International Ambassador for Peace, international speaker and author formerly calling himself the Lord of the Universe and Incarnation of God. His spurious teachings focus on claims of personal peace and self-knowledge through worship of himself and meditation using four crude techniques. He offers these meditation techniques which he calls "Knowledge (Gyan)" to anyone prepared to brnwash themselves beforehand and promotes himself as a peace educator. His teaching is based on listening to his speeches and believing his claims to be the only person on the planet who KNOWS rather than only believes. Unfortunately you have to take on faith what he says and believe he is the only person who truly knows. Rawat has addressed millions of people worldwide, most of whom live in India, where he remains a minor though traditional Indian Godman, emphasizing simply accepting his claims. Prem Rawat was born on December 10, 1957. His father's self-proclaimed title was His Royal Highness Yogiraj Param Hans Sadgurudev Shri Hans ji Maharaj. Prem Rawat claims he was a descendant of Indian Royalty, and Hans also claimed to be the living incarnation of God of his time from whom Prem inherited his position.
