Prem Rawat: Man Of Peace – Biography 8 - Knowledge in the 90's; Amaroo Outdoor Events at Ivory's Rock....

The 90’s dawned with Prem Rawat continuing to create and adjust the methods of transmission of his message. He traveled constantly to respond to the many invitations received from around the world. Now the father of four, the family usually stayed behind as he criss-crossed the earth.

Amaroo - Conference Hall
In 1992, a regular site was established for bushland events in Queensland, Australia. This was an opportunity for students who could travel to enjoy his message in a supportive environment. Affectionately called Amaroo, an Aboriginal word meaning “meeting place”, the venue has continued to host his events till this day.

The official name for the venue is the Ivory's Rock Conference Centre named after the management company that operates it. Amaroo - amphitheatreElan Vital Inc is the long-term lease holder, organizing national and international events with Prem Rawat as guest speaker.  The venue is also used for numerous other community and business functions. An annual “Opera at the Rock” at the open-air amphitheater, a week long national equestrian competition, numerous environmental conferences and local council awards meetings are examples of the diverse activities that have taken place there.

Amaroo - WallabiesThe 800 hectare property nestles around several volcanic plugs on which rare and endangered orchids cling to the cliff face. Rock climbers and bush walkers used to visit Ivory's Rock, but the area is sacred to the local Aboriginal people, and now, out of respect, the volcanic plugs are left for only the rock wallabies to climb. An environmental management plan has been established to protect the flora, fauna and habitat. The former run-down cattle property now has a 400 seat conference hall. Well-equipped campground facilities accommodate more than 2,500 people.

Amaroo - Fine DiningIt also contains a pavilion area with tabled seating surrounded by food and concessions booths, and a function centre that can seat up to 300 diners. Natural vegetation has returned along with the marsupials. Over a hundred species of birds live in or visit the area. Reptilian species are also in abundance with many snakes and lizards.

The centre has received many design and environmental awards since its inception, especially the Pavilion and the Conference Hall. The centre itself has received an Envirocare Award for its overall development, and the Queensland Government has commended the wastewater recycling system.  Ivory's Rock Convention Center
