Prem Rawat's Teaching about Karma - In His Own Words
It was only in the early 1970s that Prem Rawat, posing as Guru Maharaj Ji and acclaimed as the Lord of the Universe, made speeches using Hindu/Vedanta/Sant Mat concepts. He needed his simplistic version of Sant Mat to attract followers at that time but religion and spirituality are not areas in which he has much personal interest. After 1973 he mostly wanted to talk about Himself. In fact, more often than not, he poured scorn upon Hindu concepts but sometimes used them as if they were real when he felt like it. In the early days of his budding success he stressed the effects of His Knowledge as overcoming karma completely, something interested people were often anxious to hear.

But if I want to go to Guru, if I go to Guru and beg Him, He says, "Okay, take God!" That's why he said that if you go to God, He will give you some wealth and some ordinary pleasures, but if you go to Guru, He will
Himself give you God. Guru is that man that gave you the key for hidden treasure. Hidden treasure, that you were searching from time immemorial. Today we just read book and ask questions about that. But remember that His
every second, every quarter or half of a second, is precious. Because can you think of something higher and holier than God? And He is Himself everything. He is God. Say, "You are Creator of whole universe, you are
Destroyer of whole universe, you are kindness, you are Peace, you are Light, you are everything for me." The giver -- only Guru. Taker -- we are. How can we become Guru? What is that thing -- that why don't we become Guru?
Why can't we become Guru? You were not able to become a general; how can you become a Guru? People have said, "Okay, we want to be Guru." Guru said, "Okay, you want to be Guru? Okay. Take it. Be." People felt it, said,
"No, we don't want to be Guru." They begged at His Lotus Feet. Why do people surrender themselves? Why do people do pranam? Indication that they want to surrender themselves. One pranam, and one year's whole karma
out! And do more and more pranam, and more and more karmas out. People will say that "If you are God, if you are Guru, why don't you say?" If I will say, then people will kill me. How will I be able to give this
Knowledge to more and more people?

One more step for us to go. And that's complete surrender. When we surrender completely, then our cycle of three steps
is completed, and he has traveled 3,000 miles to be right there with us. And then all the chakras of karma die. Gone!
Finished! Because to me -- in a lot of satsangs
it's very obvious -- they say there's 8400 million things that you can become. You can become an ant. You can become
a pig. You can become a donkey. You can become an elephant. You can become a crow. You can become all these
different things.

the karma of a yogi gets slashed away the more he does the yoga. And the karma of a bhogi - and bhogi is opposite to yogi - the karma of a bhogi becomes worse and worse and worse and worse, as he gets into the materialistic things. But whatsoever happens to the karma of a devotee? And it's an incredible answer. It disappears! A yogi can start his yog, do this and do that, but for every ounce of karma, to slash it away, he has to do so much. Then maybe chunks and chunks will fall off, and then maybe he dies and everything is not gone yet. And when we really become devotees … And beyond this door we know that there is something called peace, tranquality, Knowledge, I mean, what has been described in scriptures. The ultimate thing. The Yoga of all the yogas. The Knowledge of all the knowledges. The most divine Truth. In Bible: that 'Word.' In Koran … I mean, in in all languages, that incredible perfection, that beauty, the thing that we all ought to know, lies behind the door.

Look, it's very simple. A realization, your experience of Knowledge is, by far, stronger than all the elements of this universe put together. This Knowledge is so strong that it defeats all the karmic laws of this universe. That's how strong the experience of Knowledge is. Be it a sin committed on the moon, Mars - anywhere. It defies the entire structure. It's made for that. It takes you above and beyond everything and shows you a realization of Knowledge. of Itself, of that Truth which nobody, nobody ever can deny.
If the whole world turns against you. if the whole universe - including the Martians, if there are any - turns against you. still your weight on the scale will be heavier. Because you have realized Knowledge. That's how powerful. that's how strong, that realization really is And it is that way.
It has been that way since time immemorial. It is that way on February 25th of 1979.

This is the occasion, this is the moment, that every soul is born for: to be with Guru Maharaj Ji. And for that moment to be fulfilled, that is the destiny of this life as far as I'm concerned. There can be philosophies, there can be … there is our good old philosophy of karma. This is where all the karmas died. Because who has ever deserved anything to be a part of this moment? What karma can you possibly do, what karma can you possibly do that can bring you to the point where you can be physically present when Guru Maharaj Ji is there, listening to Guru Maharaj Ji's satsang? What is it? What can you do? Neither climbing a mountain nor being good to anybody wouldn't bring you here. This is where karma stops. This is where time stops. This is where the dimensions of the world stop. And it can. The world can stop. Only one thing can be alive: just you and Guru Maharaj Ji, you in that moment. And it happens for so many of us.

You see, there's that expression, you know, when you fall, really fall in love you hear the bell ring. Well Guru Maharaj Ji truly makes those bells ring within us because they're really ringing. They're all ringing, you don't hear them and with that love, that mercy, that grace, he takes us inside and we hear the bells. … Let me tell you one thing. There is no karma good enough to deserve Knowledge. You can't do anything in past life time, nothing, nothing, absolutely nothing that you would deserve that grace in this lifetime. And yet why? And maybe this is an endless saga? Maybe, maybe this is why, 10 millions lifetimes and for 10 million lifetimes have been a devotee and for 10 million times I have doubted and lacked faith and no better than now ever and yet given me the grace the 10th millionth time too. And now and forever to give me that grace, to keep me, you know it really is interesting how much effort do we make to stay with Guru Maharaj Ji and how much effort does Guru Maharaj Ji make to stay with us. … I don't even know what a lifetime is and I don't even know what a grace is because how can I even comprehend what grace is? And yet how do where do I begin? Where do I even begin in the path of devotion? Where do I even begin in this love? Where do I even begin to thank? Or where do I even start? And yet you know Guru Maharaj Ji knows.
