Maharaji 1997: This is Our Time
"This is Our Time" was a catchphase that Prem Rawat used often. We have records showing his Guru Maharaj Ji persona using it in 1979. He used it in his 20 year role as Maharaji and he's still using it today, well not exactly today, 30th August 2024 but he probably will in September
For so many people - in 1997 maximum number of 5,000, they were not coming from some mythical beautiful place - they were not accomplishing the most beautiful thing on the face of this earth, whatever that might be but Maharaji was definitely climbing new heights of arrogant bombast. His ego is out of hand as well.
When I first started out, it was not easy - He was the pampered, youngest son of a wealthy Indian family and was worshipped as the divine Satguru by those around him. Admittedly he did have to go to school, which he hated and feared. Even in the West he was always pampered and fawned over and didn't have to go to school
And I must tell you, that even today, it's not easy - Maharaji loves luxury and doesn't deny it. He is lazy. Check his "workload" which is flying (which he loves) and making speeches - he has a reason - money and adoration and respect - people who are touched by the gift of Knowledge, they become alive - I've seen the usual aspirant process, interest, commitment, hope, excitement and then GONE
It is one thing to know you are alive and it is another thing to feel it - everyone feels alive, his premies believe there is something more but they don't experience it
And it has been a relentless effort - full of long vacations, lots of servants, never done a day's work in his life but for the committed premies … it was relentless work
there have always been those people who have wanted to be a part of it - but not enough people who will work so Maharaji is saying the servants will be blessed, maybe there'll be more ants and fewer grasshopper premies, service is so important for finances. He ends with an offer, the offer of the gift of participation
Everything is possible. I don't care if it takes another thirty [years] - It's been 27 years since this satsang and things have not evolved, its all down, down from here. I don't like to be controversial but Prem Rawat is old and sick and could die any day … or not. Its no fun watching these videos but there's alway Schadenfreude
Maharaji 1997: This is Our Time
For so many people to come together from the heart, to come together from that most beautiful place, to do, to accomplish the most beautiful thing on the face of this earth, be a part of it. One life. Remember, one life. And this is our time. This is the time you are alive and I am alive.
Imagine. What did it take for me? When I first started out, it was not easy.
And I must tell you, that even today, it's not easy. And believe me, I don't do what I do because it is easy. But I have a determination. I see a reason and what is the reason that I see? That those people who are touched by the gift of Knowledge, they become alive.
It is one thing to have the of breath … and it is another thing to know it.
It is one thing to know you are alive and it is another thing to feel it. Somehow to reach, that part that you know, maybe there is a wall, and you know that on the other side of the wall it's okay. That maybe you can help a person find that beauty inside and that would be nice. And it has been a relentless effort
And there have always been those people who have wanted to be a part of it. To me, I have felt that those people who work, through their effort, work to bring that possibility to a person where their heart can awaken, then those are the people who are truly blessed. That's a blessing. Not in ego. Maybe the one person cleans the floor. Maybe one person adjusts the lights. Maybe one person holds a ticket. Whatever it may be. Whatever it takes.
Then those who bring that possibility in that way, make it real on the face of this earth, then they are the people who are truly blessed and they know and they feel and they rejoice in that feeling.
Everything is possible. What is it going to take? It's going to take relentless commitment. That's what it takes. Twenty five years later. Twenty six years later. Thirty years later. I'm still carving the same rock. It is evolving and evolving and evolving and evolving. And I don't care if it takes another thirty. If it takes another seventy, whatever it takes. That's what I want to do. That the limits are my own vision. The limits are my own ideas. And I should not be limited.
So, I feel, that for all of you there is an opportunity. Take it and it will happen. So far there is something called the heart, it will happen. When the first thing that would have to disappear, before the miracle of this Knowledge stops is the very thing called the heart. And then of course the question is, would it be worth living in this world if there was no heart?
It is incumbent upon us, the living, to play this song again and it should be played. Like it has been played for ages and ages and ages and ages. It should be played again.
Take that inspiration to heart and make some make something wonderful happen, because it can happen, because it is the most beautiful, most amazing thing taking place.
Of course it's always up to you. Will it happen without you? Yes, it will. Can it happen with you? It should. It should. Because you should be given that gift to, to participate. It should happen with you as well. As long as there is this heart, as long as there is this Knowledge, as long as there is this beauty, let it happen. This is the time. This is our time and reach and do something.
When I first started out, it was not easy. I left home when I was a very young kid. I left my country, I left my home and I travelled and I travelled and I travelled and told people "you are very precious. You are unique. If you have a Perfect Master you must worship him" Maharaji and his former character, Guru Maharaj Ji, has been travelling since he was young kid but his message has really always been "Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! I AM the Only One who can give you peace. If you want peace, then come to ME! I AM the source of Peace in this world
