Since attending the events in the US I have returned even more inspired about propagation and the potential we as a local community have to really do something to help Maharaji spread his message out.
The Fort Lauderdale event was so electrifying I could not stop realizing how really lucky I was to be able to attend. He was truly magnificent and throughout the program I kept thinking I wish so and so was here and could listen to him like this, and oh how great it would be if so and so heard him live, that I began to realize how many people there would be that I would love to invite and have attend such an event. Videos are great, but let me tell you there's nothing in this world like getting it direct like that. For that hour everything was perfectly clear and nothing could have distracted my attention from what he was saying.
My friend told me about how they managed to pull together the event for Boulder in a matter of three weeks and how fabulous it was and how successful it also was. He is going to send me all the details of their planning and all the advertising they did with it as well.
With all this in mind I realize how important it is for us to get some funds together if we ever hope to pull something off so magical as they did. Therefore, as per our previous discussions about getting something rolling down here, I would like to put forward a proposal to have a fund raiser dinner/dance and get some financial backing behind our propagation team. If we are ever going to get Australia back on the map we need to do well planned advertising and start appealing to the masses and not just our two or three people monthly turn ups.
If the rest of the community agrees to help and we can get a team together to do this I am eager to do something.
I will list in bullet points what I would like to suggest as the format of such an event and reasons why:-
- Dinner Dance in Honour of Amaroo Team
Propagation Fund Raiser - Date to coincide with opening of our new venue.
All advertising material can incorporate map and information regarding new venue. Signifies a new start for us at the Gold Coast and may inspire others to participate. Also needs to be as soon as possible to distance itself from the possible September event at Amaroo as if that is announced many will be heavily involved in service there again and unavailable to attend and we also all start to worry about our pennies as well. - Invite all of SEQAM
One thing M did say to the people of Miami was if they had got it together with the other local communities he could have done a string of introductories not just the Fort Lauderdale one. We don't want to be as silly as them, we need to be in sinc with everyone and all help each other out. - Invite Amaroo Team as Guests of Honour
The Amaroo Team all work very hard to support M's vision in Amaroo and it would be nice for the local community to acknowledge their efforts. They have a wealth of information on how to run an event and we need to work in harmony with them and seek as much advice from them as possible should we get the opportunity to have a public program. This is a good will gesture that many businesses practice in the commercial world and I believe would make them feel good and encourage everyone to work together. Other communities may also wish to tribute to the Amaroo Team and hopefully encourage more people to travel toGold Coast for this special event. - Speaker to Acknowledge Amaroo Team Members
Helps new people who would like to participate at Amaroo as a volunteer, understand who is who and who looks after what and realize that these people have committed to doing full time service. Ask CEOs to give brief speech to help inspire people. - Lucky Door Prize / Raffle
Have a single pioneer tent at the next Amaroo Event as a raffle or lucky door prize. Have to be there to win it to encourage people to come. Limited number of tickets so the winner has very good odds. Some one will have to sell the tickets at the function and draw can only take place once all tickets sold. Number of tickets, price, and whether it be a separate raffle to entry costs to be discussed and decided upon by team. - Catering
Function to have commercial caterers to limit burden on volunteer helpers - Music
Team to determine - Advertising, Invitations, Tickets
Team to determine - Number of Attendees
Determined by size of hall and how many people will support function - Profit
The team will need to decide what their target is and this will help determine the price of entry and raffle once put together with expected costs;
Food
Drink
Entertainment
Printing
Prizes
Venue
Hire equipment
Those who were involved in last fund raiser may be able to give estimates on these factors.
I wanted to put this forward onto next weeks agenda items but I will be in Melbourne that weekend so I wont be able to attend the meeting but maybe you can put this forward for me to be discussed.
