Plans for 1999
Australian National Aspirant Team

1. Priorities

In 1999, the key areas of priority for the aspirant team will be:

1.1 Aspirant Personnel

Strengthening the existing aspirant team and broadening its base

1.2 Propagation

Increase the number of aspirants by reinforcing and smoothing the continuum from first Introduction through to receiving Knowledge and beyond

1.3 Learning Process

Provide access to videos that will help to ensure that Aspirants all around Australia are well prepared for Knowledge

1.4 Country Areas

Ensure that Aspirants in country areas are not disadvantaged either in terms of thorough preparation or follow-through after receiving Knowledge

1.5 Data Management

The creation of data bases that provide a current and true picture of aspirant activity in Australia

2. Goals

2.1 Aspirant personnel

To encourage networking by improving communication links. The process of bringing the aspirant team into the First Class email system has begun. By April1999, Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, Gosford, Nth NSW, Brisbane, Amaroo, Gloucester and Ipswich aim to be on board. For the remaining contacts (in Hobart, Cairns, the Gold Coast, Toowoomba and the Sunshine Coast) there is currently no definite time frame.

Training for the aspirant team.

Context

There are aspirant team people in Australia now who have had quite a bit of experience in dealing with aspirant issues. These people have been involved in the planning and management of numerous Knowledge selections, aspirant events and Knowledge sessions. They have the capability and experience to manage specific areas throughout the year and during main events.

Goal

Overall responsibility to rest with key people in the team.

How

Conferring, isolating key tasks and areas, consultation, delegation.

With whom

Key and experienced aspirant team people. Others in the aspirant team are to be included in the loop and invited to step forward as far as they feel comfortable

When

By the end of first quarter

Broadening the base.

Context

People in smaller centres and country areas are also, in reality, a part of the aspirant team yet have not, like the contacts in the larger centres, benefited from the considerable input from instructors and colleagues.

How

Determine who these people are. Devise a training program and support system that will be accessible and relevant for them.

When

1. Assessment of the need - by end February

2. Collation of material and training that will bring everybody up-to-date and tightly into the team - end April and ongoing from there.

With whom

Instructors, trainers, existing aspirant personnel, country circuits coordinator

2.2 Propagation

What Aspirant numbers to increase significantly in 1999

How Beautiful video events for everyone; the provision of clear information regarding the learning process and requirements for receiving and practising Knowledge; with help from our teacher and everyone; close collaboration with all of those involved with propagation

With whom

Propagation team, information contacts, MCs, national team, local contacts, aspirant team, instructors

When

2-day meeting with all of the with whoms (above) early in the year, after the schedule for the year is made known

2.3 The learning process

The goal is to provide our teacher with well-prepared aspirants at the next Knowledge Session. (Quantity AND quality)

How and what

1.Aspirant video catalogue bring up-to-date

2.Scheduling aspirant personnel to have input into the selection of videos for aspirant events based upon their perception of the need

3.Recommended viewing instructors are proposing that a list of videos be handed to aspirants as highly recommended viewing. The videos incorporate topics important for the aspirants' consideration prior to receiving Knowledge.

4.Instructor/ aspirant meetings.

When

Ongoing (items 1,2 and 4)

Item 3 currently on the drawing board and to be launched in January 1999

With whom

Aspirant team, instructors, propagation printed materials teams

2.4 Country areas

The goal

To locate aspirants in country areas, establish links for them as support in their preparation process, ensure they are well informed in terms of forthcoming events and requirements for receiving and practising Knowledge.

What and how

Research is currently under way to ascertain who, where and how many these aspirants are.

With whom

Country circuits coordinator, instructors, aspirant contacts (a small forum?), propagation and information teams

2.5 Data management

The goal

To present a common format to all Aspirant contacts AND video event organizers which will enable them to maintain and record accurate information about Aspirants attending local venues. These forms will cover Aspirants' names and contact details and over the weeks and months. This information will be kept discreetly for use by instructors and for local planning purposes

It may also assist with the collation of other required monthly statistical information.

What, how, with whom

Jenny B. is consulting with Jon P. in Melbourne to design a form to record this information. This can then be trialed by Aspirant contacts.

When

Forms to be made available to all contacts and their teams by February '99
